APPAREL PATTERNMAKING ONLINE COURSE
ABOUT- BACKGROUND:
To learn about my experience you can visit my ABOUT page . I have 20 years of extensive experience in the Fashion and Film industries in Canada . I am also the owner of 'Hip line' the clothing company I used to run from Downtown Toronto for almost 10 years until its closure in 2010 .
I am also a professional film producer and director. My projects have been screened on TV, Festivals and distributed worldwide. As such - clothing, fashion , wardrobe, colours and the real market is a very big part of my world and experience.
The Course:
In this fun course I will teach you Patternmaking in a unique fun way to give you a small window into the world of Fashion in Film and the Wardrobe department. Combining two worlds I have professionally spent 20 years in. This course will be a memorable experience and will help you determine if this industry is for you or simply enjoy learning new skills and tools that you can apply in the future .
This course is intended to teach every fashion enthusiast the basics of Paper Patternmaking and I will also demonstrate some of what we do by using industry standard patternmaking software, getting comfortable with paper patternmaking while also taking a glimpse into the world of fashion in Film. WOW! HOW FUN! I CAN'T WAIT!
We will learn how to create patterns from scratch, how to create basic blocks and what other options we have in modifying them. I will provide with free handouts that you will be able to use later on even after the course is over. In addition we will also learn -as part of our homework- some important basic notes and secrets from the Wardrobe Department- which I will teach you from the perspective of a professional Director/Filmmaker. HELLOOOO...!!

I DON'T HAVE A SUBSCRIPTION CAN I STILL DO THE COURSE?
OF COURSE! This course is geared towards teaching you PAPER patternmaking- the traditional way . I will be using Digital software simply for ease of demonstration. I will be teaching a separate course for learning Digital patternmaking . Feel free to send me an email asking for Digital patternmaking course as well.
IS THIS A BEGINNER COURSE?
YES! You could call it an 'in depth crash course'. The course is for everyone at all levels unless you already make your own patterns. Those who have some knowledge of patternmaking can still enjoy the course by creating advanced patterns, refreshing their knowledge and learn new skills from our Wardrobe specific project.
HOW MUCH IS THE COURSE?
This course is privately designed. It gives a first intro to the world of fashion and patternmaking. It allows you to get a taste for this beautiful profession BEFORE you enroll to a full University program in the same subject OR perhaps you just want to go DIY and this course is the perfect place to start. Our pricing is affordable compared to what other courses offer for similar prices.
